Present: Council members Bodlovick, Farrell, Funke, Opheim and Mayor Abrahamson. Absent: None Press: City Coordinator Kriesel City Attorney Magnuson Julie Kink, The Courier Mike Marsnik, Stillwater Gazette None Also Present: Others: r OAK GLEN SPECIAL LEGISLATION Clty Attorney Magnuson lnformed the Council that he had talked to Tom Hay, City Bond Counsel regarding the lobbying costs associated with the special financing legislation for the Oak Glen Development Co. that was previously reviewed by Council. Mr. Magnuson said that Mr. Hay did not believe any extensive lobbying effort would be necessary and that the area Legislators would do most of the lobbying. It was estimated that the costs would be about $500.00. Motion by Councilmember Opheim, seconded by Councilmember Funke to adopt the appropriate resolution in support of Special Legislation for the Oak Glen Development Co. (Resolution No. 91-70) ~es - Councilmembers Bodlovick, Farrell, Funke, Opheim and Mayor Abrahamson. Nays - None TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOP City Coordinator Kriesel asked the Council to select a date, time and facilitator for the Team Building Workshop for Council and Staff. Mr. Kriesel was directed to find an appropriate date in June or July and bring the request to the Council at a later date. The Council indicated that Don Salverda would be asked to facilitate the ,workshops. BANNERS Clty Coordinator Kriesel presented two requests to hang banners on Main St. The requests were from the Chamber of Commerce to hang a banner at Olive and Main Streets from April 28 to May 20 and from the Stillwater Elks Club to hang a banner at Olive and Main Streets and at Kolliners at Main Street from May 13 to May 28. {' 1 r Stillwater City Council Minutes April 23, 1991 Special Meeting Motion by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember Opheim to approve the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce request to hang a banner at Olive & Main Streets from April 28 to May 20 and to approve the Stillwater Elks Club request to hang a banner at Kolliner's on Main St. from May 13 to May 28 and at Olive & Main St. from May 20 to May 28. (All in favor). PROCLAMATION - ELKS CLUB Motion by Councilmember Opheim, seconded by Councilmember Bodlovick to adopt the appropriate resolution honoring the Stillwater Elks organization. (Resolution No. 91-71) Ayes - Councilmembers Bodlovick, Farrell, Funke, Opheim and Mayor Abrahamson. Nays - None CROSSWALK AT HIGH RISE (NO. SECOND ST.) Mayor Abrahamson directed the City Coordinator to make sure the crosswalk at Commercial and No. Second St. that was previously approved by the Council was completed. r PAINTING AT CITY HALL City Coordlnator Kriesel requested approval for a painting bid submitted by Jack Hogberg to paint the window trim of the Municipal Building (including the Fire Dept.) for a cost of $675.00. Motion by Councilmember Funke, seconded by Councilmember Bodlovick to approve the painting bid of Hogberg Decorating. (All in favor). CLAIM FOR DAMAGES Clty Coordinator Kriesel presented the Council with a letter from the owner of property located at 424 No. Fourth St. The property owner claimed that she incurred unnecessary costs for sewer service excavation because of improper sewer line locations. Mr. Kriesel was directed to send the property owner the proper claim form for submittal to the City's Insurance Co. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember Farrell to adjourn the meeting to Executive Session at 7:55 P.M. (All in favor).
