HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-04-09 CC MIN Special Meeting o n G SPECIAL MEETING STILLWATER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES April 9, 1991 4:00 P.M. The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Abrahamson. Present: Councilmembers Bodlovick, Farrell, Funke, Opheim and Mayor Abrahamson. Absent: None Also Present: City Coordinator Kriesel City Attorney Magnuson None Press: Others: None TAXI LICENSE Motion by Councilmember Opheim, seconded by Councilmember Bodlovick to approve two Taxi Licenses for Rivertown Taxi, applicant, Tom Akim, providing insurance is in order. (All in favor) HEART AT WORK PROGRAM City Coordinator Kriesel explained the Heart at Work Program for employees that was being offered through Washington County Public Health Dept. The program required at least one City employee to act as program Coordinator for the City and would cost about $200.00 for the year. Motion by Councilmember Opheim, seconded by Councilmember Farrell to approve the City's participation in the Heart at Work Program. (All in favor) RECOGNITION PLAQUE FOR GEORGE THOLE Clty Coordlnator Krlesel and Councilmember Funke requested the purchase of a plaque to honor George Thole, Coach of the Stillwater Ponies, in recognition of his achievement of 200 victories as head Football Coach. Cost was estimated to be $75 - $100. Motion by Councilmember Opheim, seconded by Councilmember Bodlovick to authorize the purchase of a plaque for Coach George Thole. (All in favor) ADJOURNMENT TO EXECUTIVE SESSION Motion by Councllmember Farrell, seconded by Councilmember Opheim to adjourn to Executive Session at 4:30 P.M. to discuss personnel issues. (All in favor) RECONVENED MEETING The Council reconvened the meeting discussed in Executive Session. at 5:45 P.M. to take action on matters 1 (l (I n Stillwater City Council Minutes April 9, 1991 Special Meeting Motion by Councilmember Farrell, seconded by Councilmember Funke to authorize Labor Relations Associates to review the City's Comparable Worth Plan for compliance with Minnesota Statutes and to develop a compensation plan for City employees. (All in favor) Motion by Councilmember Farrell, seconded by Councilmember Bodlovick to employ Labor Relations Associates to represent the City in matters related to the Stillwater Managers unit certification. (All in favor) ADJOURNMENT Motlon by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember Opheim to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 P.M.
