Present: Councilmembers BeaIka, Cummings, Thole, Zoller and Mayor Kimble Absent: None Also Present: City Coordinator Kriesel City Attorney Magnuson Police Chief Beberg Police Captain Bell WORKSHOP a. 1995 Police OP.nartmP.11t Work Pro~ Police Chief Don Beberg presented the Council with an overview of the function and organizational structure of the Stillwater Police Department. The discussion included: explanation of the duties and responsibilities of the various positions employed by the department; the equipment used by the department and the area served by the department. B. 1995 Fire DCWartment Work Pro~ Police Captain Tim Bell, who is also an Assistant Chief of the Stillwater Volunteer Firefighters presented the Council with an overview of the function and organizational structure of the Stillwater Fire Department. The discussion included: a training attendance analysis, equipment used by the personnel, a fire experience survey and a list of the vehicles, their estimated date of replacement and their replacement value. OTHER BUSINESS Letter of Credit Reduction for UBC Proiect City Attorney Magnuson presented the Council with a request to reduce the letter of credit required ofUBC for the UBC Industrial Park building project from $1,200,000 to $852,000. Mr. Magnuson explained that the UBC representatives believed that the value of the UBC property in the downtown was $348,000 and the letter of credit should be reduced by that amount because the City would have title to the downtown property. Motion by Councilmember Cummings, seconded by Councilmember Thole to reduce the letter of credit for the UBC project to $852,000. All in favor. Stillwater City Chamber of Commerce Committee ADDOintrnent.~ Mayor Kimble said that a request has been made by the new City of Stillwater Chamber of Commerce to appoint a member of the City Council to serve as liaison to the Chamber's Economic Development Committee. Mayor Kimble recommended that Councilmember Bealka be appointed to serve in this capacity. (":. r (' Stillwater City Council Special Meeting March 28, 1995 Motion by Councilmember Thole, seconded by Councilmember Olmmings to appoint Councilmember BeaIka to serve as City liaison on the City of Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee. All in favor. Stillwater M8n817P.1"S Contract City Coordinator Kriesel presented the Council with an amended salary schedule for the 1994-95 labor agreement between the City of Stillwater and the Stillwater Public Manager's Association. The amended schedule included the salary for the Ice Arena Manager position which was inadvertently left out of the agreement. Mr. Kriesel recommended Council approval of the amended schedule. Motion by Councilmember Thole, seconded by Councilmember Zoller to adopt the appropriate Resolution approving the amended salary schedule for the 1994-95 labor agreement between the City of Stillwater and the Public Manager's Association. (Resolution No. 95-92) Aye - Councilmembers Bealka, Cummings, Thole, Zoller and Mayor Kimble Nays - None Assistant BuiIdin\lln&pector Position City Coordinator Kriesel presented the Council with an amended 1995 salary schedule for the AFSCME labor agreement. The salary schedule was amended by setting the Assistant Building Inspector salary at the same level as the Secretary position. Motion by Councilmember Zoller, seconded by Councilmember Cummings to amend the salary schedule for AFSCME labor agreement as recommended by the City Coordinator. All in favor.
