Present: Councilmembers Bod1ovick, Cummings, Funke, Kimble, and Mayor Hooley Absent: None Also Present: City Coordinator Kriesel City Attorney Magnuson Fire Chief Seim Recording Secretary Schaubach Press: None Others: Otto Bonestroo, Marvin Sorva1a, Tom Peterson, Tom Noyes, David Johnson DISCUSSION OF GAS TANKS AT STILLWATER YACHT CLUB r Fire Chief Gordon Seim met with Council to discuss the status of the gas tanks at the Stillwater Yacht Club. The tanks are outdated and must be removed. Motion by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember Kimble to direct the Fire Chief to contact the MPCA in order to stop any further filling of the gas tanks at the Stillwater Yacht Club. (All in favor) Motion by Councilmember Kimble, seconded by Councilmember Funke to direct the City Attorney to contact the Stillwater Yacht Club and have the lease signed and paid for by next Tuesday. (All in favor) Hayor Hooley reported that an ad hoc committee has been appointed to study the future of the Stillwater Yacht Club, consisting of Arne Sandager, Alan Butterfield, and Richard Kilty. This item will be ratified by the Council at next Tuesday's meeting. WORKSHOP MEETING WITH ANDERLIK & ASSOCIATES - ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES. REPRESENTATIVES OF BONESTROO. ROSENE. PRESENTATION OF MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING AND r otto Bonestroo, Marvin Sorvala, Tom Peterson, and Tom Noyes of Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates met with Council and gave a presentation on their municipal engineering and architectural services. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session. Mr. Bonestroo requested a future meeting with Council to prepare answers to questions 1 r stillwater City Council Minutes Special Meeting April 27, 1993 that were made by the Council. WORKSHOP MEETING REGARDING OAK GLEN AGREEMENT Council met with David Johnson to discuss the status of the Oak Glen Golf Course refinancing. Foreclosure proceedings have begun on Oak Glen and receivership will begin next Wednesday unless some definitive action is taken by Mr. Johnson to payor refinance the debt on the Golf Course. Mr. Johnson has contacted a new lender who requires a deferred purchase agreement with the City, similar to the agreement that the City and Oak Glen was negotiating with Eastern Heights State Bank. Council gave concept approval and directed Staff to work with Mr. Johnson on the agreement and bring it to the next regular meeting of May 4, 1993. OTHER BUSINESS r Banners for Art Fairs Motion by Councilmember Bod10vick, seconded by Funke to approve a banner on Main St. at Olive following dates: Spring Art Fair, May 2-17, 1993; Sept. l7-0ct. 4, 1993. (All in favor) Councilmember st. for the Fall Art Fair, Vacancy on Parks Board Council discussed the vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Board created by the resignation of Roberta Opheim. Council suggested that former member Steve Joyce be reappointed. Safety Shoes for Public Works and Parks Emoloyees Council concurred with the previous decision to provide $100 per employee for safety shoes.
