DOWNTOWN PARKING COMMISSION
The Downtown Parking Commission meeting was held on August 25, 1993 at 3:00
p.m. in the Maunsell Room at the Stillwater Public Library.
Present:
Paul Simonet, Ed Stuart, Karl Ranum, Dave Swanson, Stu Glaser,
Patrick Anderson.
Not Present: Katie Holdorph.
Others: Steve Russell, Ann Terwedo.
1. Approval of minutes of June 9, 1993. Motion by Dave Swanson, seconded by
Ed Stuart. ALL IN FAVOR. APPROVED.
Ed Stuart did mention to his neighbors on Main Street that there are
parking regulations.
2. Parking Program Update
Stu Glaser reviewed the Parking Program to date. He discussed the
enforcement activities and revenues for 1993. He stated this years
revenues are up about 1/3 from last year.
The Commission discussed improvement/recommendations to date.
3. Hotel/Public Parking Spaces
Ann reviewed the preliminary site plan for the hotel project. The
Commission would like to be kept updated.
The overflow parking for the hotel should have a designated area.
Employees should also have designated parking areas.
4. Paul Simonet discussed the proposed loading zone on Union Alley.
On Again/Off Again would like a loading zone. Stu Glaser stated that by
putting a loading zone at this location it would not be practical because
their deliveries are very infrequent (one or two deliveries per month). He
felt this parking spot is needed.
Karl Ranum made a motion to deny the request for a loading zone on Union
Alley. Seconded by Ed Stuart. ALETN FAVOR. APPROVED.
5. Beer Truck Loading
Patrick Anderson is concerned about the beer truck loading on Myrtle
Street. He is going to ask them to park at a better location.
6. Reeds Lot Parking
Karl Ranum suggested the Reeds lot parking hours be changed from two hours
to four hours. This could be done once CUB Foods Corporate Office has
moved.
Dave Swanson made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Ed Stuart. ALL IN FAVOR.
APPROVED. The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
