HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-076 (Plans & Specifications and Ordering Advertisement For Bids -Greeley Street Lift Station Improvement Project)RESOLUTION 2020-076 APPROVE PLANS & SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR GREELEY STREET LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, dthe City Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the Greeley Street Lift Station Improvement Project and has presented such plans and specifications to Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER, MINNESOTA: 1. The plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk is ordered to prepare and cause to be inserted in The Gazette and online at QuestCDN.com the advertisement for bids upon the making of the improvement under the approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published once in the Stillwater Gazette and for two weeks online at QuestCDN.com and shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until 11 am on September 10th, 2020, at which time they will be publicly opened via Zoom at City Hall. Under Minn. Stat. §13D.021 in person meetings are not prudent because of the health pandemic therefore bid opening are held online or by phone. Members of the public may participate in the bid opening by logging into www.zoom.us/join or by calling 1-312-626- 6799 and entering meeting ID number. 3. Bids will then be tabulated and will be considered by the Council at their next regular Council meeting on September 15th, 2020, in the Council Chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the Clerk for ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid.
