HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-07-27 DTPC MinDOWNTOWN PARKING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES The Downtown Parking Commission met July 27, 1994 at 3:30 p.m. in the City Council' Chambers of City Hall. Present: Paul Simonet, Patrick Anderson, Katie Holdorph, Ed Stuart, Dave Swanson, Karl Ranum. 1. Approval of minutes, March 30. 1994. Motion by Dave Swanson to approve, seconded by Ed Stuart. All in favor. 2. Hotel Project. Ann reviewed the parking demand for the new hotel at 127 S. Water Street. Discussion followed regarding employee parking. Paul Simonet stated that either parking be on their property (existing Hooley's lot) or in the gravel lot. A question was raised about how many employees will be needed. Ann stated that the gravel lot could accommodate employee parking. The Parking Commission would like to see temporary lighting in the gravel lot and railroad ties to define the area. 3. UBC Update. Steve Russell updated the Commission on the status of the UBC lot. Paul Simonet made a motion to support the City's efforts to provide additional parking on the south end of town through the purchase of the UBC lot. Seconded by Patrick Anderson. All in favor. 4. Auditorium and Brick Alley Lots. Motion by Patrick Anderson to provide better signage in the Auditorium and Brick Alley lot. Seconded by Katie Holdorph. All in favor. 5. Lot at Pine and Third. The Commission discussed the new lot on Pine and Third. Since it is completed, the group felt it was time to incorporate it into the Downtown Parking program. Karl Ranum made a motion to amend the Parking Ordinance to include the Riverview Lot in the Downtown Parking Program with permit parking Monday through Friday 8 - 6 and public parking evening and weekends. Seconded by Katie Holdorph. All in favor.
