HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-078 (revisions to City Employment Policy Manual due to new Mn Wage Theft Law) RESOLUTION 2019-078 APPROVING REVISIONS TO CITY OF STILLWATER EMPLOYMENT POLICY MANUAL DUE TO NEW MINNESOTA WAGE THEFT LAW WHEREAS,the City of Stillwater,as an employer,complies with state labor laws; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Legislature passed and the governor signed a new Minnesota Wage Theft law; and WHEREAS, the New Wage Theft Law amends existing state labor laws and provides for new wage and hour requirements, protections,and sanctions; and WHEREAS, the City of Stillwater Employment Policy Manual Employment Relationships Section 5 provides guidance to employees regarding facets of the Employment Relationship; and WHEREAS, Section 5 has been revised to include new responsibilities for the City as an employer under Minnesota's New Wage Theft Law; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Stillwater hereby approves the attached revised City of Stillwater Employment Policy Manual Employment Relationships Section 5.
