APPROVING PROPOSAL OF SUMMIT COMPANIES FOR INSTALLATION OF NEW FIRE
ALARM SYSTEM FOR CITY HALL AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE CAPITAL
RESERVE FUND TO COMPLETE THE WORK
WHEREAS,the Fire Alarm system is a critical life safety code system for City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Alarm system in City Hall has been aging and is in need of
continual repairs; and
WHEREAS, City staff solicited proposals for replacement of the city hall Fire Alarm
system and received four proposals ranging in price from $19,800 to over$80,000; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Alarm system, including the alarm panel, enunciators, horn and
strobe devices, smoke detectors, and other components are included in the price quotes
received; and
WHEREAS, following review and analysis of all proposals, City staff recommends
approval of the proposal from Summit Companies for installation of a new fire alarm system
for City Hall in the amount of$23,441 as being in the best interest of the City and further
recommends approval of a transfer of$23,441 from the Capital Reserve Fund to complete
the work.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Stillwater City Council approves the
proposal of Summit Companies in the amount of$23,441 for installation of a new fire alarm
system for City Hall, approves the transfer of $23,441 from the Capital Reserve Fund to
complete the work and authorizes the City Administrator to execute all necessary documents
to complete the project.
Adopted by the Stillwater City Council this 13th day of November, 2018.
