Oath of office of Mrs. Mete w. ttuntoon, as a member of the Library Board, .was on motion of Alderman King ordered fire;, 0n motion of Alderman King the City Treasurer was instructed to accept ;66.57 in full settlement for assessments due s;;elnat Lot 4 Block 9 Carli a Schulenb„res Addition, seed settlement to Include all rebates due Robert Smithson on tots 16, 17 and 18 Block 5 of Sabina Addition, on account of grading No. Fifth Street between Laurel and Cherry Streets. Report of the Hulloing Inspector relative to the non-compliance of the construction of fire escapes, was read, and on motion of A,derm9n Murphy the matter was referred to the City Attorney with instructions to enforce the orders of the Bulleing Inspector and Fire Marshall relative to the seme.. Report of Street Committee in the matter of purchasing a motor truck, was on motion of Alderman Ring accepted, ordered filed and farther time granted. Report of Cower Committee in the matter of the sewer near the St. Paul House was on motion of Alderman Murphy ecc•pted, ordered filed and the recommendations therein contolned ordered compiled with. On motion cf Alderman Stsrkel, the wetter of purchasing 9 motor truck was indefinitely postponed, The Street Committee recommended that the City purchase two small dump Cara with neceeasry ratls,to corny rock from where it 1s qua arled to the atone crusher, and after some disoasaion, the mutter was upon motion of Alderman Bordweil post - Potted for the time being. The Lighting Committee reported that the Consumers power co, were installing the lights on the bridge across the St. Croix, The same Committee was granted further time in the .ratter of arranging lights near the City Hoap1t91. president Johnson reported that he had interviewed the Superintendent of the Ct. Railway Co., wltb reference to proper filling between the street car rails on SO. Third Ctreet, and that the Railway Co., had sgreed to fill the same wlth crushed rock in the near future. On motion of Alderman Murphy the City Clerk was instructed to look up suitable bullc,ngs for polling booths for the ensuing -lection and report on same at the next meeting. Mr. Roy C. Staples, of the western Choe Co„ addressed the Council with reference to the open sewer near their property. President Johnson CS -led Vice Pres. Staekei to the chair and stated that he had Interviewed nearly all of the property owners elcng the sine of the rpen sewer, and found that all of them, 'Ith one or two exceptions were o1111ng to bear a part Of the expense of constructing a proper sewer to take care of the eunniee water at that place, President Johnson resumedhis seat end Aldermen Burtzlaff moved that the Sewer Committee interview the property owners along the dreeil,alont the lines aucuested by President Johnson, and report on same at next meetler. Aldermen Burtzlaff booed that the price of crushed rock at the quarry he fixed as foitows:41.35 per Bard for coarse rock, $1.45 for medium sized and A1.60 for screenings, theseeprlcee, however, not to apD1Y to rock already :told to 0. d, olson and H. J. YCKus1ck, as they had both contracted for rock at certain Prices. viz- 0. H. Olson at g1.50 ptr yard delivered at the Bean building and H. J. ecKuslck $.75 per yard at the quarry, motion carried. Peasl•+e for the construction of the Heating Pant was presented um read, and on motion of Aldermen King, the same was accepted, approved and ordered files. On motion or Alderman Kin,,, the Contract for the const:•uction of the Heating Plant between M. :.. Peaslee and the City of Stillwater, was accepted, approved, and ordered executed by the proper officers and filed. Resolution No. 2246,_ On $25,000.00 bond Issue was adopted by the following vote: Aloernn bordwell,Glebler, King, M rpby and Vice President Starxel (5) voting Yea.
