Mr. Frank Refiner was present, and stated that he was willing to give a.. matinee,next saturdey afternoon, for the benefit of the Ohio flood sufferers, and q asked Yd-co-operation of the Council. The Council endorsed the suggestion of Mr. Meaner, and on motion of Alderman Murphy the chair was instructed to appoint a committee of three to act in conjunction with Mr. Meaner, and the chair appointed Aldermen Murd.hy, King 5nd Dord►ell as such Comml ttee. On uotlon of Aldercah Bordwell, 5 Tote of thanks was tendered Heaner Bros„ for their generous offer, end also the the Gazette, for their offer to aid in advertising the proposition:. Mayor Brenner, Suggested that the City Council should do something in the way Of an appropriation for the flood sufferers, but thought it best to await the action of the Rate Iegislature now in session, as there was a move on foot to mite a Ftete appropriation for that purpose. Metter was deferred to await the action of the Legislature. The contract with the Austin -western Road Machinery Co., for the purchase of a No. 3 Austin-testern Mom Crusher, with necessary appliances, was presented ify the Purchasing commilttee, and on motion of Alderman Tells, same was accepted, approved and ordered filed. Report of the Finance COsglttee showing that they had checked up the receipts by the City Treasurer and the Clerk or the 1Cunicipal Court for the year ending March 31, 1913, was on notion of Alderman Johnson, accept.d,approved and ordered tiled. Minutes Of the Cancellation Meeting held by the Finance Committee and their report of disburseuentS for the year ending March 31. 1913, were reed, and On motion Of Alderman tells, was approved, and report Ordered riled. Alderman Clebler, of the light COul:.lttee reported having tad a talk with the consuners Power Co., relative to .emov11g poles on Main ttreet, and stated that they were not lncbhned to do so at present. CoLmAttee was granted further time. Alderman Murphy of the purchasing COtlaitee retorted lis" g made 5 trip to Ft. Faul,wlth the purchasing Committee and City i-,nglreer to look at steam drills, but had made 110 definite arrangements. CO,L.lttee was granted further time. On motion of Alderman Johnson the Purchasing Co;:1tl.ee whim authorized to purchase a suitable boiler to be used in copulation with the steam drill at the ."Lone Crusher blunt. On motion of Alderman Murphy the bond of Herman C. pretzel, wa8 accepted, approved and ordered filed. Alderman King moved that the City Procure a bond in the sum: of #2r,000.00 for the city Treasurer, the preulum to be raid by the city. motion carried. Green, was on motion of Alderman Glaser. sPProved and refereed to the Trustees of the Flremens Relief Fund, with the reconsendatl0r, that they Pay the sure. Mayor Brenner suggested that the action of the Finance Committee the las, two years,ln auditing the books of the City Treasurer and the Clerk of the Municipul,Court,thereby saving the city an expense of about 010.0C each year was highly appreciated, and on motion of Alderman tells s vote of thanks was tendered to the Finance Couamlttees. Mayor Brenner also presented a communication from the rteie Fire Marshall dated in January, stating that he would send a man over soon to Investigate the business buildings of the City relative to Fire escapes. On motion of Alderman Wells a recess was taken t0 Permit the Commissioners of the Interest and Winking Fund t0 hold a meeting. After which the Council reconvened and the minutes of the meeting of the Commissioners of the Interest and Einkirg Funds were read and approved; and the Commissioners of the Interest and finklic Fund burned the bonds referred O in th their report on the presence of the City Council. Resolution No 2222. On Payment of sundry bills was adopeted by the following vote; Aldermen Bordweil, Glaser, Glebler, Johnson, Sing, Meister, YurPby, Wells and President Mosier (9) voting Yea; President Mosier, one of the retiring Alderney expressed his sppreclatlon of the kindness and courtesies extended to him during his term of office, and especially while actlr.g as President of the Council, and as the Incoming Chief executive of the City, hoped to be able t0 work 1n harmony with the new Council for the beet Interest of the City. Alderman Glaser, the other retiring Aldermen thanked the council ana other city offlcers for courtesies shown, and wished for his successor a useful and successful admli.istrat10n for the City. On motion of Alderman Eordwell a vote of thanks was extended to the retiring Aldermen. All the Aldermen expressed their best wishes and feelings toward the retiring Aldermen, and wished for them success In their future undertakings.
