Regular L'eetlat.
Present Aldermen Bordwell, Glaser, Glebler, Johnson, Kith•, Relater,
Murphy, Tells and President Nosier.(9).
Ulnutes of last regular meeting held Jan. 21, read and approved.
Mr. Fred Chamberlain, representative of the Austin -Western Co., submitted to the
Council their proposition as to the sale of a stone crushe:, and asked that the Council
beat' tom Mr. George Lauer, an experienced stone crusher man, who was heard, end stated
that he had visited the City's stone quarry and said that with proper machinery and
ronagement the stone could be quarried and crushed so as not to cost to exceed 50 cents
per yard.
Mr. Nick. MOKellar, representing the same Company, submitted a proposition ln•writing.

stone crusher, and the Council took a recess so as to give the commKtgirtilt the
City Engineer with reference to the proposition, yy
Council reconvened and the committee reported thatbedid not deem it advisable to
close the contract at this time and asked that they be given until the next meeting to
further investigate the proposition, and on motion of Alderman Wells the timewas granted.
Mr. Chamberlain asked that he be permitted to withdraw their proposition, which was
granted.
Potation of Alfred J. Peterson, as,.ing for renewal of liquor license at No. 314
East Chestnut Bt., was On motion of Alderman King granted, and license ordered issued.
Petetion of T. C. !Making, asking permission to install a Gasoline tank and Bowyer
Pddp In front of nis place of business at 202 E. Chestnut Gt., wee on motion of Alderman
Bordwell, referred to the City Attorney, with instructions to report on same us to the
legal rlgnts of the City to grant said request.
Repast of the receipts of the clerk of the Municipal Court for the month of Janaury
was on motion of Alderman king, accepted, ordered filed and referred to the Finance Comm.
City Treasurers Financial statement for the month ending Jan, 31, and his statement
of receipts and disbursements were on motion of Aldermen sing, accepted, ordered filed
and referred to the Finance Committee.
Report of the Building Committee on the matter of providing suitable quarters at
the City Jail for women and children, was on motion of Alderman Glaser, accepted and
ordered flied.
On motion of Alderman Glaser the c:air was instructed to appoint a Legislative
Committee of three, the prey. Of the council to be one of the Committee, and the
choir appointed Aldermen Murphy and King as the two additional members.
Resolution No. 2.21E
on the payment of bills was adopted by the following vote;viz; Aldermen Bordwell, Glaser,
Giebler, Johnson, King, Meister, Murphy, Wells and President Nosier (9) voting yea.
On motion of Alderman King Council adjourned.
