Present Aldermen Bordwell, Glaser, Glebler, Johnsr.n, K1r.r. iteister,
Murphy, vells.and President Mosier (9).
Minutes of last regular reetirk held Jan. ith 1915, read and approved.
Co._ulnlcatlon from the Chief of the Fire Department appointing Thomas Brickley,
as minute tan, to take the place of Albert rtrandberg, resigned, was or. motion of
Alderman King accepted and ordered filed and the appointment confirmed.
Committee on light reported harirg had a consultation with the Consumers
Power Co., relative to removing poles or. Main rt., and was given further time.
same Committee to whom was referred the matter of either changing or Putting
in additional light on No. (wars Ct., reported that they had investigated said
matter, and recommended that no bet1On be taken. pprOGCh

on metier. of Aldermen Murphy the said committee was instructed tO use their judgment
in regard to having said light turned on under special urrangcuents with the Consumers
power company.

S250.00 for Co."4". and after sos..e discussion the matter was deferred.
Si;ildirg committee reported having examined the City Jail and stated that it
would be feasible to fix up one room there for women and children, and on motion or
Alderman Glaser the committee was given further time, with instructions to bring In
written report.
Alderman Murphy and Bordwell of the fpecial Committee on stone crusher made
report that they had net with gr. Jesse Hill, a representat1vetof the Austin.Slestern
Co., and with him had made a trip to the quarry In the north part of the C1tY, and
were arranging with Mr. Hill t0 visit some place and irspect one of their stone crushers
in operation. Cotardttee wise granted further tire.
On motion of AlaertTAn King the Ordinance entitled • An 'Ordinance declaring the
emidsion of dense smoke within the City of rtillwoter a public nuisance and prohib-
iting the same", was placed on its second reading, and was read section by section,
and no amendments beimm; offered, the -hair then put the question "shall this ordinance
pass", and upon roll call it was duly passed and adopted by the following vote;
Aldermen Bordwell, Glaser, Glebler, Johnson, King, Melster, Murphy, Wells skid
president Mosier (9) voting Yeu. and the chair declared the ordinance passed and
duly adopted.
On motion of Alderman King the city C1erK was instructed to have a number of
copies of this ordinance printed and distributed to coal consumers.
gayer Brenner reported having met with the Arwy Mnglneers at Duluth, and
reported that the engineers deemed the•Bruie" :t. crolx "rcarte"fad'-the canal,a.feas-

yr. J. A. :wines, city rnealth physician reported the condition of the small
pox epidemdc in the City, stating that the conditions were not much better than when
last reported.
Resolution S.o. 2212, on payment of labor pay roll was
ac.oPted by the following vote;
Aldermen Bordwell, Glaser, Glebler, JOnnedn, Kira;, Meister, iturphy, tiells,and
preslrient gaoler (9) voting Yea.
Gn motion of Alderman Glaser council adjourned.
