HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-158 (Transportation Adequacy Assessment for Neal Meadows 5th Addition) RESOLUTION 2018-158 CITY OF STILLWATER WASHINGTON COUNTY,MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION ADOPTING TRANSPORTATION ADEQUACY ASSESSMENT FOR NEAL MEADOWS 5TH ADDITION WHEREAS,the Council has considered a request of the property owner of Lot 4, Block 2, Neal Meadows to subdivide his property into three lots, one for his existing house and two vacant lots; and WHEREAS, the lot subdivision will be replatted as NEAL MEADOWS 5TH ADDITION; and WHEREAS, the property owner is responsible for the payment of a transportation adequacy charge on the two new vacant lots in NEAL MEADOWS 5TH ADDITION and has requested that the charge be assessed to the two vacant lots; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has computed the transportation adequacy charges at a total of$5,035.78, or a total of$2,517.89 for each of the two vacant lots; and WHEREAS, the proposed subdivision of the property is not yet effective,since PID numbers for the lots within NEAL MEADOWS 5th ADDITION have not been assigned by Washington County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Stillwater as follows: 1. That the amount of$5,035.78 is hereby adopted as an assessment and that it be payable in three annual installments of$1,678.59,with interest on the unpaid balance at the rate of 4.5% per annum. 2. That at the present time the assessment be spread against the existing lot with Washington County PID No. 3003020110007. 3. That upon filing of the plat of NEAL MEADOWS 5TH ADDITION and the assignment of PID numbers by Washington County for the individual lots, a reallocation of the assessment is hereby authorized at the rate of$2,517.89 for each of the two vacant lots, in three annual installments of$839.30 together with interest on the unpaid balance at the rate 4.5% per annum. 4. In all instances, the assessment is hereby certified to the County Auditor for collection with the real estate taxes. 5. The assessments upon each subject lot are also due upon the sale of each lot.
