This memo i~ ~ r~in4er to Council that a Special Meetin9 is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 1988, at 4:30 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 216 No. Fourth St. to discuss the folloWin9: 1. MINNESOTA 55082 PHONE: 612-439-6121 . . . SPECIAL MEETING STILLWATER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES March 8, 1988 4:30 p.m. The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Abrahamson. Councilmembers Bodlovick, Farrell, Kimble, Opheim, and Mayor Abrahamson. Also Present: City Coordinator Kriesel City Attorney Magnuson Finance Director Caruso Community Development Director Russell City Clerk Johnson Public Safety Director Mawhorter Recording Secretary Schaubach Present: the Mayor 15 at Representatives of Town Taxi were present to answer questions Council might have regarding Stillwater's taxi service. Abrahamson suggested they attend the Regular Meeting on March 7:00 p.m. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL City Coordinator Kriesel discussed changes made pursuant to the last meeting. Council directed Director Mawhorter to determine printing costs and the Council in this regard. to the manual Public Safety report back to Motion by Councilmember Kimble, seconded by Councilmember Opheim, to adopt the appropriate Resolution adopting the Policies and Procedures Manual in its preaent form, to take effect on the first day of the month following its distribution to all City employees. (Resolution No. 7876) Ayes - Councilmembers Bodlovick, Farrell, Kimble, Opheim, and Mayor Abrahamson Nays - None nEPARTMENT HEAD SALARIES City Coordinator Kriesel presented a proposed salary schedule based on the Comparable Worth Plan. Councilmember Farrell presented a salary schedule which he drafted based on length of service and performance evaluations. Council concurred with Councilmember Farrell's figures, except for the City Clerk's proposed salary. Council agreed to review the Fire Chief's salary at the end of the six-month probationary period. Motion by Councilmember Kimble, seconded by Councilmember Farrell to adopt the following salary schedule for Exempt Employees, retroactive to January 1, 1988 (Ayes - 4; Nays - 1, Councilmember Bodlovick): 1 . . . Motion by Councilmember opheim, seconded by Councilmember Bodlovick, to issue a Permit to Consume to the Class of 1958 for a Happy Hour in Lovell Park on July 9, 1988, 6:00-8:30 p.m., for 50 people; and a pig roast in Pioneer Park on July 10, 1988, 5:00-9:00 p.m., for 50 people. (All in favor.) City Coordinator Kriesel reported that he Conciliation Court tomorrow on behalf of the lawsuit alleging that a City plow hit a van. will City in a appear regarding Council discussed a letter from Dave Johnson, Stillwater Township regarding water run-off from Woodland Lakes Mall.
