On motion of Councilman Peterson. seconded by Councilman Balfanz a resolution was introduced "Authorizing the Installation of 'lia Parking' signs on South side of Nelson Alley from Main to Second Streets and installing a Loading Zone in the Vicinity of the Frosty Foods on the North side of said alley. (see resolutions) 2. On motion of Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Balfanz the application of Mrs. Emma Knefelkamp, 1120 North Owens Street for the deferral of assessments was accepted. 3. On motion of Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Balfanz the application of Elsie H. Hall, 912 South Fifth Street for the deferral of assessments was accepted. 4. On motion of Councilman Balfanz, seconded by Councilman Peterson the application of Ed Clark, 706 West Anderson Street for the deferral of assessments was accepted. 5. The request from Caton H. Felix, 413. South Greeley Street for assess- ment deferral was delayed pending confirmation of additional information. 6. On motion of Councilman Wohlers, seconded by Councilman Peterson the application of Arthur and Ruth Newman,S13 West Churchill Street for the deferral of assessments was accepted. 7. On motion of Councilman Balfanz, seconded by Councilman Wohlers, the City Coordinator was directed to investigate the income on the application from Lawrence J. Gelhar, 604 West Maple Street and present this application at the next regular meeting. .....; 8. The application from Melvin Ludwig, 1118 West Linden Street was submitted but this party has no unpaid assessments at this time. 9. On motion of Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Balfanz the application of Olga A. Kempf, 1206 South Fourth Street for the deferral of assessments was accepted. 10. On motion of Councilman Balfanz, seconded by Councilman Thompson the application of Hazel E. Clayton, 309 West St. Croix Avenue. for the deferral of assessments was accepted. 11. On motion of Councilman Balfanz, seconded by Counci.lman Peterson the application of Arthur o. and Lois Boucher, 909 North Willliams for the deferral of assessments was accepted. . . . " \ . . "' 274 . November 20, 1974 - continued BUDGET DISCUSSION 1. On motion of Councilman Peterson. seconded by Councilman Balfanz the Clerk was directed to write a letter to the Chairman of the Washington County Board asking that the City of Stillwater be relieved of paying the $6,500.00 per year for assessing charges. 2. The City Coordinator was directed to check into hospitalization coverage for the retiring Council members. 3. There will be a meeting with the Police Chief and the Fire Chief re- garding the justification of an additional police officer for 1975, and a sixth man on the regular fire department. r 4. On motion of Councilman Balfanz, seconded by Councilman Peterson the Clerk was directed to advertise for applicants for the position of Working Foreman for the Street Department, said applications to be in by December 10, 1974. RESOLUTIONS The following resolution was read and on roll call was adopted: 1. Installing No Parking - South side of Nelson Alley and a Loading Zone on the North side.
