HomeMy WebLinkAbout8335 (Res.) (' RESOLUTION NO. 8335 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR PARTIAL IMPROVEMENT OF L.I. 254 MULBERRY ST., FROM NO. 4TH ST. TO NO. EVERETT ST. WHEREAS, a resolution of the City Council adopted the 20th day of March. 1990. fixed a date for a Council Hearing on the proposed improvement known as the Mulberry Street Improvements. L.I. 254; and WHEREAS, ten days' mailed notice and two weeks' published notice of the hearing was given and the hearing was held thereon on the 17th day of April, 1990. at which all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. NOW, THEREFORE I BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Stillwater. Minnesota: r 1. Such partial improvement of Mulberry St.. from the western edge of No. 4th St. to the eastern edge of No. Everett St., is hereby ordered as proposed in the Council resolution adopted on the 7th day of August, 1990. 2. Short-Elliott-Hendrickson. Inc., as designated engineers for this improvement, have prepared plans and specifications for the making of such improvement, which are hereby approved. 3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper (and in The Construction Bulletin) an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the clerk until 11:00 A.M. on August 31, 1990, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of the City Hall by the City Clerk and Engineer, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the Council at 4:00 P.M.on August 31, 1990 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned durin9 consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit. cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the Clerk for ten per cent of the amount of such bid.
