ADOPTING ASSESSMENT FOR 311 SOUTH THIRD STREET
NO. 8179
RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS, property located at 311 South Third street known as
Parcel No. 10693-4110 was assessed for benefits received from
Local Improvement No. 195, and
WHEREAS, the property was subsequently declared tax
delinquent, causing the assessments to be cancelled because of
the forfeiture, and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 429.071, Subd. 4 provides that
when a parcel of tax-forfeited land is returned to private
ownership, a municipality may, upon notice and a hearing as
provided in the original assessment, make a reassessment or a new
assessment as to the parcel equal to the amount remaining on the
original assessment, and
WHEREAS, there remains a balance owing on this parcel for
Local Improvement No. 195 in the sum of $475.36, and
WHEREAS, the owners of the property wish to waive notice and
a hearing and consent to the City Council's adoption of this
Resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF STILLWATER:

1. That the assessment in the amount of $475.36 is hereby
adopted and shall constitute a special assessment against the
property at 311 South Third Street known as Parcel No. 10693-4110
and the land is hereby found to be benefited by the proposed
improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it.
2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal annual
installments over a period of four years, the first of the
installments to be payable on or before the first Monday in
January, 1990, and shall bear interest at the rate of 8-3/4% per
annum from the date of the adoption of this assessment
resolution. To the first installment shall be added interest on
the entire assessment from the date of this Resolution until
December 31, 1990. To each subsequent installment when due shall
be added interest for one year on all unpaid installments.
3. The Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified copy of
this assessment to the County Auditor to be extended on the
property tax lists of the County. Such assessments shall be
collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal
taxes.
