RESOLUTION NO. 8111
MAKING FINDINGS FOR DETERMINATION OF REQUEST FOR SEASONAL AWNING AT POPEYE'S
RESTAURANT IN THE RIVERWAY BLUFFLAND/SHORELAND DISTRICT. (CASE NO. V/89-33)
WHEREAS, the Stillwater City Council reviewed the plans for a proposed awning
at Popeye's, 422 East Mulberry Street, on July 11, 1989;
WHEREAS, the City Council viewed the proposed awning as seen from the river
depicted in phot09raphs and slides;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF STILLWATER, MINNESOTA,
that it has been determined the blue awning for Popeye's, with the following
conditions stipulated by the City Council, will be inconspicuous in the summer
months as viewed from the river
1. The awnin9 shall be a blue color to blend with the marina environment.
2. The awning shall be installed after Memorial Day and removed by Labor
Day.
3. The area covered by the awning shall not be screened.
4. The permit is not valid until the Department of Natural Resources has
reviewed and certified the request.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the seasonal awning does not constitute enclosure
of the deck.
