PAUL, MINNESOTA • CHIPPEWA FALLS, WISCONSIN Immuno Nuclear Corporation 1951 Northwestern Avenue Stillwater, Minnesota 55082 Gentlemen: RE: JOINT POWERS COMMITTEE WASHING^1ON COUNTY OUR FILE NO. 80054 On September 18, 1981, the undersigned met with your architect, Mr. Steve Urbin of Be Architects, Inc., and Mr. Dennis Anderson of Immuno Nuclear Corporation, regarding the onsite curb construction and driveway entrances. Since Immuno Nuclear Corporation still has guarantee money escrowed for job performance, they are interested in reducing the amount escrowed if at all possible. The undersigned told Mr. Urbin that he had reviewed the onsite curb requirements and driveways with Mr. Dennis O'Donnell of Washington County Planning Department. Because of proposed building expansion and final drainage configuration, the originally proposed curbing at the edge of the bituminous driveway on the east side of the site, is not necessary. We reviewed the driveway entrances and particularly the connection and reconstruction of the curb and gutter portion on Northwestern Avenue. The existing concrete curb and gutter on each side of each driveway entrance should be sawed to povide a clean contraction joint. The southerly driveway entrance curb and gutter portion, is higher than the existing on the north edge thereby creating a slight drainage problem in the gutter. It was requested that approximately half of the new curb and gutter be removed and replaced such that the grade would allow drainage through the entrance on Northwestern Avenue. We estimate the amount of work required for the driveway corrections to be approximately $200 and would reconuuaend that you contact the Washington County Planning Department for estimated costs of additional landscaping items. We also recommend you request a reduction in the performance money such that the amount retained would cover the proposed driveway corrections and any other items which the Washington County Joint Powers Committee may require included. We are also enclosing a copy of Mn/DOT's standard plate 7035 J which shows the driveway entrance requirements in the Joint Powers area. 200 GOPHER BUILDING • 222 EAST LITTLE CANADA ROAD • ST. We feel these will satisfy the requirements of both the City of Stillwater and the Joint Powers Committeefor drainage and surfacing. If there are any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned. Sincerely, Richard E. Moore jcj cc: Mr. Dennis O'Donnell, Washington County Planning Department Ar.
