In making the plan rev.iow of the structure by our staff and the Stillwater
Fire Chief', these items wore rioted.
1) The type of cons trLiction is 21-N.
2) The occupancy IN p--2.
3) 'rhe maximum occupancy .load of the str-iictu.re was determined to be 180.
14 ) A1.1 plumbing must be installed for Minnosota Plumbing Code (MILD 120-
135.) Laboratory sinks in equipment (107) and research (105) rooms
must. be equipped to handle special wart, es (MILD 1,'9d. ).
5) Ventilation, heating and air-conditioning must be installed per
SBC 7101. Laboratory benches in equipment (107) and research (105)
rooms must have a separate exhaust system (SBC 7711). Mechanical
calculations must be submitted .for approval prior to installing any
equipment.
6) Building must be accessible to handicapped. (Chapter 55 of the
State Building Code) This would require both stairs to have
closed risers (2 MCAR - 1.15502 - G).
7)" Sprinkler plan must be submitted for approval.
8) Flammable liquids may be stored in storage area (Room 209) per
Chapter 9 of UBC and Fire Code section 15.403. No individual
container shall exceed five gallons and not over 120 gallons shall
be stored in any one approved cabinet. Of this total, not more
than sixty gallons may be of Class I and Class II liquids. When
approved by the Fire Chief, three approved cabinets may be located
in an area. Also, materials being stored must be kept at least
36 inches below sprinkler deflectors (Fire Code 35.105-h).

9) Radioactive material may require permit frOM the United States
Atomic Energy Commission (Fire Code; 19.102) . Radioactive mate-
rial to be identified and stored per Fire Code (Secti0rr, 19.105).
10) Office partitions and equipment must be placed in accordance
with Section 3313 of UBC. Partitions cannot be used to form
exit corridors.
