The chairmen, Tom Farrell, called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.
Motion by Alfred Roepke, seconded by C. Jay Sleitcr that the minutes
from the meeting of October 25, 1982 be approved as written. Motion
carried unanimously.
CASE NO. 468
Variance
Kenneth Seefert, 10003 Mendell Avenue
North for variance of 1269 square feet
total lot size and 7 ft. on depth.
Mrs. Seefert requested that Al Zepper explain the request. He states
there is no other land to be acquired by the lot above. They have
bought a house and intend to move it. The house is a small 2 story.
Carl Johnson, 717 W. Myrtle asked what would be done about sewer.
Mr. Seefert will have to put in a lift -station at his own expense.
Don Martin, 718 W. Myrtle feels that there is insufficient room on
this lot and would be very crowded. George Wohlers, 709 W. Myrtle,
asked several questions regarding the sewer. Don Martin was also
concerned about added cost of sewer to city tax -payers. He was in-
formed that the Seefe.rt's are aware it is at their expense.
Barbara Avise was concerned regarding drainage to the downtown area
if this ravine is filled.
Motion by Alfred Roepke to grant above variance, seconded by Josephine
Vania. Motion carried unanimously.
CASE NO. 469 David Magnuson, 901 W. St. Croix Ave.
Resubdivision of to change 6 Lots to 4
Part of Block 2
Cooper's Addition
Mr. Magnuson showed the members a map and explained how the lots
would be divided. He stated that the way they would be divided would
still give his home some sense of remoteness. Two neighbors were
present, but indicated no objection. One neighbor did state that he
would like to be assured that this area would not; become apartments,
condos, etc. All the lots are presently zoned two-family. Mr. Magnuson
will have the land surveyed upon approval from the Council.
On motion of Alfred Roepke, seconded by Dean Miller, the request
for 6 lots to 4 lots and variance for driveway was recommended.
Motion carried unanimously.
There was an informal hearing from two neighbors of the church
i on Pine and Fourth Street which is being remodeled. The both.
state they may not be able to be here next month when the owner
has indicated that he will come back for approval of 5 units.
Glen Medbery, 215 W. Pine strongly objects to more units because
of the traffic and parking.problems. He states if a garage is
built next to his line he would not have room for a double garage
because there must be 15' between buildings. Both neighbors
present also stated that the quality of work being done on the
church is surely not being done to their expectations. They
said that painting is being done and no primer was put on first.
This Commission will hear the case next month if the request for
five units comes before them.
On motion of Josephine Vania, seconded by Dean Miller, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
