He explained that there would be only one special case this evening.
-CASE. NO. 494 Request to construct a "headend" facility
Special Use Permit consisting of a 100 foot tower, a satellite
receiving antenna (disc) and a 10x30 foot
equipment building in the Northeast Quarter
of Section 32, Township 30N, Range 20 West.
Donald T. Raleigh, Attorney, explained a sketch map showing the
approximately location.
Greg Gerard from Washington Co. Cable Co. explained in detail what
would be placed on the plot. He states there will be 3 things:
1) a 16x28 ft. disc
2) a concrete building for equipment (10x30 ft.)
3) a 100' tall tower
He states all these things will be inside a chain link fence. The only
dangerous thing about any of this will be the heighth 6f the tower
(kids climbing on it). Mr. Farrell questioned what would happen if
this area is developed and someone builds quite close; what about the
interference. Mr. Gerard stated that homes can be up to the boundary
without interference.
Wayne and Joan Norman, neighbors, stated their concerns regarding
reception. Mr. Gerard states there should be no problem, as with
cable they only receive and don't broadcast.
Josephine Vania questioned the necessity of building in a residential
area rather than industrial park . Mr. Gerard stated that the idea
had been considered. There may be interference from high -frequency
machinery and the cost of land was very expensive.
Tom Farrell questioned whether or not the net effect,of evergreens
would still be by Lilly Lake or if they intended to take out several
trees. Mr. Gerard stated that they intend to take as.little greenery
as possible, probably mostly brush.
Motion by Douglas Seitz, seconded by Dean Miller, to approve request
for Special Use Permit. Discussion -•followed motion. Barbara Avise
had concerns regarding the possibility of .expanded park area.
