MAGNUSON Mark Jessen, 219 Northland Avenue to increase garage size - variance of 226 feet over code for workshop and storage. Al Wiger, 620 W. Pine Street for 394 sq. foot variance for an over- sized garage - code allows 750 sq, feet. Pat Hering, 13990 - 81st St. No. - Minor Subdivision & possible variance STILLWATER PLANNING COMMISSION PRESENT: Thomas Farrell Dean Miller Josephine Vania Barbara Avise Dean Marlette Ronald Newman Russell Meister Allen Zepper ABSENT: Douglas Seitz Alfred Roepke DATE: November 28, 1983 TIME: 7:00 P.M. The chairman, Thomas Farrell, called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. Motion by Russell Meister, seconded by Dean Miller to approve the minutes from the meeting of October 24, 1983. Ronald Newman questioned what the decision of the Council was on Case No. 510, William Murrary, for a special use permit. Motion carried unanimously. CASE NO. 513 Variance Mark Jessen, 219 Northland Ave. for variance of 226' to increase garage size for workshop and storage. Mr. Jessen explained plans for the proposed building. He states the building will be used for personal use and storage. The roof line was questioned and he stated he would move it one foot so a variance would not be needed. He will only -.use a propane heater in the building for heat. Josephine Vania questioned if there were any neighbors objective to the plan. Mr. Jessen had spoken with one who was not opposed. Josephine feels that Croixwood was developed to have a certain look and if additions and garages are allowed it will soon take away from the "tproper balance:,.. Thomas Farrell stated he feels the building is much oo large and takes up too much of the back yard. He also noted it is not a permanent structure. Ronald Newman pointed out that such a building would be highly visible from the road. Motion by Dean Marlette, seconded by Josephine Vania, to deny request for variance based on the feeling that the plan is not appropriate for the size of the lot. Motion carried unanimously. CASE NO. 514 Variance Al Wiger, 620 W. Pine St. for 394' variance for oversize garage. Mr. Wiger states he would like to add another garage for two autos. He would then have room for five. The house is presently constructed for two families and is zoned a duplex. He stated that his family and several individuals would reside in the house. He was informed that if the "several individuals" was not one family, the house would need a special use permit for a boarding house. Mr. Wiger stated the
