The chairman, Thomas Farrell, called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
Motion by Russell Meister, seconded by Dean Miller to approve the
minutes from the meeting of October 24, 1983. Ronald Newman questioned
what the decision of the Council was on Case No. 510, William Murrary,
for a special use permit.
Motion carried unanimously.
CASE NO. 513
Variance
Mark Jessen, 219 Northland Ave. for
variance of 226' to increase garage size
for workshop and storage.
Mr. Jessen explained plans for the proposed building. He states the
building will be used for personal use and storage. The roof line was
questioned and he stated he would move it one foot so a variance would
not be needed. He will only -.use a propane heater in the building for heat.
Josephine Vania questioned if there were any neighbors objective to the
plan. Mr. Jessen had spoken with one who was not opposed. Josephine
feels that Croixwood was developed to have a certain look and if
additions and garages are allowed it will soon take away from the
"tproper balance:,.. Thomas Farrell stated he feels the building is much
oo large and takes up too much of the back yard. He also noted it
is not a permanent structure. Ronald Newman pointed out that such
a building would be highly visible from the road.
Motion by Dean Marlette, seconded by Josephine Vania, to deny request
for variance based on the feeling that the plan is not appropriate for
the size of the lot.
Motion carried unanimously.
CASE NO. 514
Variance
Al Wiger, 620 W. Pine St. for 394'
variance for oversize garage.
Mr. Wiger states he would like to add another garage for two autos.
He would then have room for five. The house is presently constructed
for two families and is zoned a duplex. He stated that his family and
several individuals would reside in the house. He was informed that
if the "several individuals" was not one family, the house would need
a special use permit for a boarding house. Mr. Wiger stated the
