IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL, 216 NO. FOURTH STREET. AGENDA 1. Approval of Minutes - June 24, 1985. 2. Case No. 593 - John A. Fox, 437 So. Second St. - request for Special Use Permit. Convert property into a Bed & Breakfast facility. 3. Case No. 594 - Mike Collins, 309 W. St. Croix Ave. - request for 10 ft. front yard setback variance in order to construct a shed. 4. Case No. 595 - Grant D. Ranum, 522 W. Hickory St. - request for variance for reduction of required building separation (7 ft.) 5. Case No. 596 - Lawrence Rose, 1321 So. Fifth St. - request for Special Use Permit in order to construct a commercial building. 6. Case No. 597 - George & Louise Speers, 1229 Third Ave. So. - request for 5 ft. sideyard setback variance to add a 3 -season porch. 7. Any other business the Planning Commission may wish to consider. Vice Chairman, Jerry Fontaine, chaired the meeting for Dean Miller. Motion by Nancy Putz, seconded by Rob Hamlin to approve the minutes from the meeting of June 24, 1985 with the correction of Judy Nelson's name to read Judy Milston. Carried unanimously. CASE NO. 593 John A. Fox, 437 S. Second St. for special Special Use Permit use permit for bed and breakfast facility Mr. Fox stated he now plans on having a total of five units and has adequate off street parking. Mr. Zepper informed him what would be required of him should some time in the future he want more than five units. It would then )e considered a hotel rather than a boarding house. Mr. Fox stated he would ie making no external changes on the home and minimal internal changes. A neighbor, John Castle, was present and expressed his concern if there would be considerable remodeling. He has -no objection to the facility as presented at this time. It was noted by members that Mr. Fox mentioned use of audio visual equipment for meetings in the large dining room. If he intends to do so he will have to,supply adequate parking. Motion by Rob Hamlin, seconded by Nancy Putz to approve special use permit with a one year reviewal period. Unanimously carried. CASE NO. 594 -Variance Mike Collins, 309 W. St. Croix Ave. for 10 ft. front yard setback variance in order to construct a shed. Mr. Collins states he will be using the shed for storing lawn mower, tiller, fire wood, etc. His plans indicate that the shed will be part in the ground. Two neighbors were present and expressed their concern of their only view and that putting a shed there would block it. It was felt by Commission members there was no real hardship for the case and that the shed could be put elsewhere in his yard. Motion by Doug Seitz, seconded by Nancy Putz to deny request.
