May 11, 1959
Meeting called to order by temporary chairman, Sherman Crane, at
7:40 P.M.
Roll call: Ten members present. Absent, Mr. Bergen.
Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.
Old Business : Election of a chairman. Mr. Hooley nominated Sherman
Crane. Mr. Crane declined.
Mr. Hagen nominated George Stennes-Mr.Schwantes seconded the nomina-
tion -Mr. Brosell moved the nominations be closed and the secretary
cast a unanimous white ballot for Mr. Stennes . Mr. Hagen seconded.
Motion carried.
Mr. Stennes took the chair and conducted the balance of the meeting.
Mr. Mulvey nominated Mr. Hagen for Vice-Chairman. Mr. Crane seconded
the nomination. Nominations were closed and the secretary cast a
unanimous white ballot for Mr. Hagen. Motion carried.
New Business . Quorum.
After considerable discussion, Mr. Crane moved, Mr.Schwantes seconded
that eight (8) members shall constitute a quorum. (Based on an eleven
member commission. )
Mr. Crane moved and Mr. Mulvey seconded that any press or radio re-
leases must be approved by the Commission,. Motion carried.
Mr. Hagen moved and Mr. Schwantes seconded that the commission take
no action on any requests for rezoning until a further study has been
made. Motion carried.
Mr. Stennes suggested that C. David Loeks of the Metropolitan Planning
Commission be asked to attend the next meeting to advise and recommend.
This suggestion was approved by all present.
The date and time of the next meeting to be set to coincide with Mr.
Loeks' visit.
Mr. Stennes to attend the meeting of the City Council on Tuesday,
May 12, 1959 at 7:30 P.M.
Mr. Hggen moved for adjournment.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
