The regular meeting of they Planning & Zoning Commission was held on
August 10, 1960.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Hagen at 3:10?M.
Members present were: Agnes Hayes, Iris Orial, James Mulvey, Shorty Bourdaghs,
Robert Hagen, Wally Handevidt, Shields Smith, Al Bergen and Sherman Crane. .
Absent were: Arno Schwantes, Richard Dewhurst, Glenn Johnston, Jack Hooley and
George Stennes.
Mr. Hagen gave a brief histor, cf the commission and a, resume of what had been
accomplished up to present time for the benefit of the new members.
Lille from Community Phanning & Design were discussed.
Mr. Crane moved and Mr. Mulvey seconded s motion to pay $1000 for the months
of June and July and not to pay the $60 for the Hooley review. Motion carried.
The addition to Felix Grocery was discussed. Mr. Crane moved and Mr. Boud.aghs
seconded a motion tabling the request of Caton Felix until the next meeting.
Motion carried.
Chairman Hagen appointed the following committee to investigate the request of
Mr. Felix .for an addition to existing building: ribs. Agnes Hayes, Wally Hand-
evidt and I. A. Bergin. The committee is to report at next meeting of commission.
Request of William and Mabel Skramsta.d to operate a beauty parlor in a.
proposed new home in the McKusick Lake area. This would be a non-conforming use.
Mr. Boudaghs mov+ d that the request be denied. There being no second, Mr.
Bourdaghs withdrew the motion.
Mr. Handevidt moved and Mr. Bourdaghs seconded a motion recommending that the
request be denied. Motion carried.
Mr. Haken spoke on interim Zoning Ordinance and District 834 Planning; Commiss6on.
Mr. Crane spoke on Parking Authority.
Mr. Bergin moved and Mr. Crane seconded a, motion retaining Community Planning
& Design Associates as the City's planning consultants for the ba.lpnce of the
program. Motion carried. A discussion followed.
Mr. Handevidt moved and Mr. Smith seconded a, motion to adjourn. Motion carried.
