HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-06-08 CPC MIN PLANKING & ZONING COMMISSION June 8, 1960 The meeting was called to order by Robert Hagen, Vice Chairman at 4:1OPM In the Directors Room of the first National Bank. Roll call showed the following present: Haigen, Hooley, Handevidt, Johnston, Crane, Bergin, Dewhurst, Schwantes and Mulvey. Absent: Brosell & Stennes OLD EUSINESS: Additional members were submitted for consideration of the commission, two to be recommended. 1. Shorty Bourdaghe 2. Shields Smith 3. Tom Campbell 4. Roger Hayes 5. Ygron Melstrom (to replace Axel Brosell who wishes to resign) Voting was by ballot with the following results: 1. Shields Smith 6 votes 2. Shorty Bourdeghs 5 votes 3. Tom Campbell 4 votes 4. Roger Hayes 3 votes Two to be recommended from the following: 1. Mrs. Gilbert Larson 2. Mrs. Ruben Jacobson 3. Mrs. William Skramstad 4. Mrs. Roger Hayes 5. Mrs. Lloyd Taylor 6. Mrs. John Oriel Voting was by ballot with the following results: 1. Mrs. Ruben Jacobson 7 votes 2. Mrs. Lloyd Taylor 6 votes 3. Mrs. John Oriel 5 votes Chairman Robert Hagen was instructed to contact candidates in order listed and to recommend to the City Council the first two men and the first two women accepting for appointm`nt to the commission for a three—yeas term. Chairman Robert Hagen read a letter from Tom Hodne regarding the request of Hooley South Hill Market for a permanent driveway. Mr. Hodne recommended that the request be granted and that this area be developed in an orderly manner. Mr. Bergin mom d and. Mr. Crane seconded that the Commission agree with our Planning Consultants and recommends that the request for a permanent driveway be granted. Motion carried unanimously. The matter of a Parking Authority was tabled. Commission discussed extra charges by Community Planning & Design Associates for technical assistance on non—conforming uses. It was decided to consult with Mr. Hodne att some future meeting. Chairman Hagen announced that a meeting was to be held this evening at the Frank Rarig home on Valley Creek Road (June Sth). Also that a meeting of various Planning Groups was to be held at the Oak Park School on Wednesday, June 22 at 8PM. Members were urged to attend. Commission decided to retain the present officers for the coming year: George Stennes, Chairman Robert Hagen, Vice Chairman Chas. Thompson, Secretary No dath was set for next meeting.
