HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-05-08 CPC MIN PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Minutes of meeting May 8, 1961 The meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman Glenn Johnston at 7:45 P.M. Present: Johnston, Mulvey, Crane, Schwantes, Dewhurst, Bergen, Melstrom, Hayes, Oriel, Hooley, Smith Also present was Mr. Elmer Olson from Stillwater Township Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. A letter is to be sent to George Stennes from the Commission in appreciation of his work for the past two years. Election of officers: Chairman: Mr. Bergen nominated Hobert Hagen. Mr. Schwantes seconded the nomination and moved that nominations be closed and the secretary cast a unanimous white ballot for Mr. Hagen as Chairman. Mr. Dewhurst seconded and motion carried. Vice Chairman: Shields Smith and Clarence Bourdaghs were nominated. Mr. Bourdaghs was elected by a 5-4 vote. Charles Thompson was nominated and elected secretary. Sherman Crane submitted the name of Chester Wilson as prospective member of the Commission to fill the vacancy due to the resignation of George Stennes. This appointment would be for one (1) year.. The following names were suggested as prospective members to be appointed for a. three year term: Ed Frye, Hank Sampson, Wes Windmiller, Richard Olsen, Leonard McGuire, Robert McGarry, Arthur Edstrom, Sidney Wihren, Arthur Palmer, Leighton Charlsen, Searle Sandeen, Alex Kraemer, Leo Jewell, Mrs. John Herschleb, Mrs. Emerson Lower. Voting by ballot the following six (6) were to be contacted in the order listed until four (4) new members would, consent to serve: Searle Sandeen, Mrs, John Herschleb, Leighton Charlsen, Richard Olsen, Arthur Edstrom, Ed Prye. These were followed by: Hank Sampson, Sidney Wihren, Wes Windmiller, Arthur Palmer. Schwanted moved and Dewhurst seconded a motion to request our planning consultant for terminal dates on the completion of the entire program. Motion carried. Airs. Oriel read two questions that had been submitted to the question box. These were discussed and left to the publicity committee. It was suggested that the Parking Authority be invited to attend the next meeting.
