Present: (Members) John Condon (Chairman) ; Swede Wihren; Harold Hohlt; Myron Melstrom; Donald Carlson; Duane Arndt; Eugene Bremer. Absent: I. A. Bergen; Fred Kalinoff Also Present: Glen Metz. CASE #66 Applicant not present. Mr. Condon: We are considering Case #66 which is from Mr. Clifford Aken, 1302 North Second Street. He is asking for a variance to add a car-port to the front of his garage. Mr. Carlson: I move that we postpone this until such time until Mr. Akey appears before the Planning Commission. Mr. Arndt: 1' will second the motion. Mr. Condon: Motion has been made by Don Carlson and seconded by Duane Arndt that we postpone this until Mr. Akey can come before us. Any further discussion? (No response. ) Mr. Condon: All those in favor say aye. (All in favor. ) CASE #67 - Present: William Bell; Scot Herzog; William Kinsel. Mr. Condon: We now have ease #67 - Outreach. Mr. Arndt: May I, with regard to Case #67, move that the Commission request an opinion from the City Attorney as to whether, under the existing law in the State of Minnesota, this Commission can grant a special use permit as requested in the original request because I have some doubts. (At this time extensive discussion was had. ) 1 1 i Mr. Arndt: I would move that the Planning and Zoning Commission request an opinion of the Office of the City Attorney with respect to issuance of special use permits under current Minnesota Law and the issuance of special use permits and the procedure for the issuance of same under the current Zoning Ordinances. i Mr. Hohlt: I second that. Mr. Condon: Any more discussion? (No response. ) Mr. Condon: Then all those in favor say aye. (All in favor. ) CASE # - - Present: Harvey Moelter Mr. Condon: I don' t have a request here. Mr. Moelter: John didn' t inform me that I had to fill one out. Mr. Condon: Will you give us your name and address and what your requesting and we will act on it and you can fill out the form tomorrow. (At this time extensive discussion was had. ) Mr. Hohlt: I move that we request the Council to grant a variance of two feet four inches for rear yard. Mr. Wihren: I will second it. Mr. Condon: Any more discussion? (No Response. ) r Mr. Condon: All in favor say aye. (All in favor. ) CASE #68 - Applicant not present. Mr. Carlson: • I move that we put - table this until such time as Mr. Nolde appears before the Council. Mr. Arndt: I will second. Mr. Condon: All those in favor say aye.
