September 25, 1972 - Regular Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Arndt. A motion was made by
Balfanz, seconded by Hohlt to approve the minutes of the meeting of
August 21, 1972. Motion Carried.
Richard McKnight - Variance for Duplex.
A motion was made by True, seconded by Balfanz that the Planning
and Zoning Commission recommend granting a 12 foot backyard variance,
also providing for a 22 foot sideyard (facing Martha St.), subject to
the approval of the adjoining property owners. Motion Carried.
Clarence M. Johnson - Variance.
A motion was made by Balfanz, seconded by True that the Planning
and Zoning Commission recommend granting a variance to construct a garage
within less than 5 feet of the sideyard, subject to the purchase of a .
piece of property 4 feet and subject to the supplying of an adequate deed
to tho attached proper-by, and subject to a registered land survey. ' Motion
Carried.
Janet Corbo - Special Use Permit.
A motion was made,by Kalinoff that the Planning and Zoning Commission
recommend that any request for a, special use permit be denied, not recommend
that the Zoning Ordinance be revised and deny any request for rezoning to
permit its coming in as part of the commercial district. Motion dies for
lack of a second.
A motion was made by Hohlt, seconded by Kasun that the Planning and
Zoning Commission recommend that a request for rezoning part of Lots 12 and—,
14, the W". 85 feet of Block 5 o� Greeley and Slaughter's Addition from
two family to commercial be denied. Motion Carries.
A motion was made by Zoller, seconded by Shelton that the Planning and
Zoning Commission recommend that the Zoning Ordinance be revised to provide
for certain reclassification under special use permits; and provide for
taking out certain permitted uses in I family districts. Motion Carries.
Mr. Marshall will made a draft of the Ordinance amendment.
Action on the special use permit of Janet Corbo should wait until the
Ordinance amendment is approved.
Rube Granquist - informal discussion re: request for variance to
build townhouses.,
On Saturday morning, September 30, 1972 at 10:00 a.m. the members ,
of the Planning and Zoning Commission will meet to take a look at the
property in, question.
Gary Calverly - Variance to build a garage.
Petitioner will ask for a vacation of the road behind his property.
Ron Kiel - Special Use Permit.
This is a request for a special use permit to place on tapes wedding.
ceremonies that have already been recorded. It was determined by the Planning
Commission that no permit was needed.
Discussion of ,Ordinance for Accessory Buildings.
A motion was made by Balfanz, seconded by Shelton that the Planning
and Zoning Commission recommend the adoption of an ordinance amending
Ordinance 383 relating to accessory building yard setbacks. Motion
Carried,
Robert Steindorff - Park in Fairmeadows to be given to the City.
It was reported that the Recreation Committee had turned down the
reauest. A motion was made by Shelton, seconded by Hohlt that the Planning
and Zoning Commission recommend that the proposed park.-to be dedicated be
rejected. Motion Carries.
A motion was made by Balfanz, seconded by Kalinoff that the meeting
adjourn. Motion Carries.
