HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-082 (Demolition of Structure at 816 4th St S, HPC Case 2016-01) RESOLUTION 2016-082 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DEMOLITION OF THE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 816 4TH STREET SOUTH HPC CASE NO.2016-01 WHEREAS,at the January 4th regular Heritage Preservation Commission(HPC) meeting,the HPC determined in a public hearing the residence located at 816 4th Street South was a Historic Resource,that there were alternatives to demolition including,but not limited to, actively marketing the property for sale, and made recommendation to the City Council to authorize the preparation of a designation study of the structure; and WHEREAS,in the January 20th regular meeting of the City Council the Council learned the property owner is willing to market the property for sale; and WHEREAS,the City Council determined the sale of the property is an alternative to the demolition and therefore tabled consideration of the authorization of the demolition designation study for the structure located at 816 4th Street South for a period of 90 days;and WHEREAS,in the April 5th regular meeting of the City Council the Council determined the property was not actively marketed for sale and that the demolition approval shall be stayed an additional 60 days. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of Stillwater hereby approves the demolition of the structure located at 816 4th Street South with the following conditions: 1. The property must be listed for sale on the MLS for at least 60 days. 2. Within the 60 day MLS listing period no purchase agreement has been signed. 3. Prior to release of the demolition permit from City Offices,the property owner must legally combine the parcel containing the home to be demolished together with the property at 820 4th Street South.
