Valet Parking Proposal for Luna Rossa 10/14/2004 Proposed Idea: Luna Rossa would like to hire a company to provide valet parking service for our customers on Friday and Saturday evening between the hours of 6PM and 11PM. We would like to charge a small fee for this service, which will be paid directly to the company hired to perform this service. We would also like to have 2 A -frame signs on the street when this is available, so that the guests may know where to drive up to. Reason: We feel that the weather will present an obstacle for our customers to dine during the winter months, and of we are able to offer them this service, we would encourage them to continue to patronize. We would also like to offer complimentary valet parking to our local residents who register for our "La Familigia" card. Valet parking lots: We would like to use the parking lot at the top of the hill at 1st and Nelson as our primary lot and if possible, we would like to use the parking lot across the street as overflow. If there are different locations that would be better for use, please indicate. Our average diners stay about 2 hours, so that would still maintain the time limits most public parking lots require. The following are items that need to be addressed for the survival of the businesses of North Main Street. 1. 3 Hour Parking on Main from Mulberry north to the City Parking Lot enforced. (No Construction parking.) 2. The west sidewalk of Main from Mulberry to Staples Mill cannot remain closed for 2 years (demolition and construction of the Mills Condos). *Plan A: Construction barricade should be moved to back side of sidewalk to maintain walkway and on -street parking. There should be a protected walkway for pedestrians provided. *Plan 13: If the sidewalk cannot be opened then barricade should be moved back to curb and protected walkway created within parking spots. Clients and customers will not proceed north to 402 and 450 Main if they have to cross Main Street twice. If closing of the sidewalk or parking spots are needed, they should be reopened as soon as possible after that phase of construction is finished. During demolition, sidewalk and parking places were barricaded. (Sidewalk was not touched or removed during demolition.) At the least a walkway could have been provided in the parking spaces or parking maintained with a small walkway on the sidewalk. 10/14/2004 Sincerely, Monty Brine W C5 I ' 3rti Terri Brine Iv - 414 - 77 Y- //`-(7-e t !vim c.L`"c. r T R A T T O R I A W I N E BAR (651) 430-0560 -402 South Maivi,Street Stillwater, MN 55022 Nww.! uv,,arossawi.vuebaK.cowi. REVISION 10/29/2004 Luna Rossa would like to acquire the 2 parking spots next directly in front of the doors, nearest to Nelson Street for a valet loading zone. Valet parking would only occur on Friday and Saturday evenings, and special events or holidays. We would pay for any permitting necessary and signage to allow this to occur. We would provide a mobile sign that will only be out when this service is offered, and it will be "lollipop" in style. We would like to park the cars in the lot across the street that is no longer a pay lot after October 31st. We would like to begin this service the 2nd week in November and continue through the winter and early spring. We would also like to use the lot at the top of Nelson and 2nd as an option for overflow.
