RESOLUTION 2014-106
STILLWATER HUMAN RIGHTS AWARD

LENNY SNELLMAN
WHEREAS, the Stillwater 3-fuman Rights Commission requested
nominations for the 2014 Stillwater Human Rights Award; and
WHEREAS,Lenny Snellman has been nominatedfor his service to a small
non-profit School in Xenya, .Africa; and
WHEREAS, LENNY is a local doctor of pediatric medicine, who spends his
time doctoring the children at Daylight School and its community, andhe has
also helpedwith construction of two dormitories; and
WHEREAS, LENNY'S first trip to 3Cenya was in 2012; he returned in 2013;
and has scheduled trips for thisfall-with medical colleagues, and in early 2015
with members of his church congregation; and
WHEREAS,LENNY now serves on the Board of Directors of Daylight School;
and
WHEREAS, The enrollment of the School has grown to 231 students in 5
years, most of the children at the Daylight School are orphans who are fed,
educated; and given a bed to sleep in, but most of all; these children are given
hope.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Stillwater, J►1 innesota, the 2014 3-luman Rights .Award is presented to Lenny
Snellman in appreciation of his outstanding leadership and dedication to •
human rights, and is hereby commended for these efforts.
.Adopted by the City Council this 17th day of June, 2014.
