AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH DESIGN OF A SINGLE FIRE STATION AND
UNDERTAKE CONSTRUCTION SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE NATIONAL GUARD
WHEREAS, the information presented by the consultants showed a modification of the
previously presented design that should reduce the estimated costs of the Fire Station, and;
WHEREAS, additional refinement of the concepts discussed will be needed before advertising
for bids, and;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the consultants go forward to finalize the revised plans, and;
2. That Notice be sent to the Guard that the City intends to proceed with the Fire Station
construction contemporaneously and in concert with the construction of the New Armory,
and;
3. That the commitment is made to have one fire station at the new location and staff should
plan based upon that model, and;
4. Staff is directed to take all reasonable and deliberate action in furtherance of these stated
goals.
Adopted by the Stillwater City Council this 18th day of September, 2012.
