Meeting Minutes
September 16, 2010
Commissioners present: Aimee Peletier, chair/business; David Korte, secretary/resident; Dave Junker, resident; Sherri Hopfe Franke, business
Commissioners absent:Jeff Johnson, vice-chair/resident
City Staff present: John Gannaway, police chief; Dennis Pasket, parking enforcement officer
City Staff absent: Bill Turnblad, community development director

agenda discussion action
election of officers Curt Newcomb moved out of Stillwater, thus it was necessary for the Commission to
elect a new chair. Following the recommendation of city staff all three officer
positions were opened for election. A motion was made and seconded to elect Aimee
Peletier as chair, Jeff Johnson as vice-chair and David Korte as secretary and to have
their terms be one year. The motion passed in a unanimous voice vote. Curt
Newcomb was thanked for his service to the commission and the City of Stillwater.

Commission discussed possible solutions and then a motion was made to have the
City make and install three or four “30 minute parking” signs with striping by the
store. The city engineering department would decide on placement and the number
of spaces that would fit. Mr. Nelson would pay for the signs and striping. It was also
mentioned that Washington County is studying this corner and changes maybe
coming. The motion passed in a unanimous voice vote.

with vehicle and pedestrian traffic that resulted in his concern for public safety. He
also stated the Downtown Parking Commissions Enterprise Fund only received
$111.00 from vendors for this event; many vendors occupying spaces did not pay for
the use of paid parking spots.
A motion was made and seconded to recommend to the 2011 4th of July Negotiation
Committee that the River Lot be shut down and used for the exclusive use of the
event and the event organizer be directed in the placement of vendors and dumpsters
for the safety of the public. The motion passed in a unanimous voice vote.
