The Commission discussed an appropriate fee and other possible restrictions. While reviewing the proposed plan the Commission discovered 11 spaces would be lost, not the eight originally thought. A motion was made and seconded to:  set a fee of $3,575 (which would be placed in the Parking Fund)  prohibit parking on main street by Adolfson & Peterson Construction (general contractor)or any of the sub contractors  restrict parking for Adolfson & Peterson Construction and its subs to the gravel area north of Mulberry and east of the Desch building  require Adolfson & Peterson Construction to communicate and enforce these parking restrictions  allow Adolfson & Peterson Construction to use fencing, block off Water Street, and use designated parking spaces for nine months beginning July 27, 2009 (after Lumberjack Days) The motion was approved in a voice vote. agenda discussion action Minnesota Zephyr and Main Bill brought a request from Shawn Sanders, Public Works Director/City Engineer, asking Bill will inform Mr. Sanders that his Street right turn lane that the right turn lane markings, going into the Minnesota Zephyr/Depot area, be request was approved. removed as this would allow additional Main Street parking spots. Inaugural Anytime Fitness John updated us on the use of parking lots for the Stillwater Marathon. Lot #1 will be Stillwater Marathonused to stage the runners before moving them down to the starting line; after the race starts, it will be open up for public use. Lot #7 will be blocked off all day for use by public safety agencies supporting the race. Lot # 5 will be used by business owners and their employees. Camera update John updated us on his search for grant money. Last Monday he submitted a grant for $11,700 in stimulus money for the camera system. The total cost for cameras for downtown and parking ramp cameras will probably be $90,000 to $100,000. Parking ramp update Bill said next week the contractor is expected to begin pouring cement for the on-grade th slab, and the pouring for the next level will begin on June 12. Parking enforcement John said the City Council discussed at their recent retreat the possible removal and/or Bill and John will keep the officer’s vehicle reassignment of the parking enforcement officer’s vehicle.
