MEETING MINUTES
The Heritage Preservation Commission met Wednesday, March 9, 1994 at
7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall.
Present: Jeff Johnson, Jay Michels, Pat Qualey, Brent Peterson
Not Present: Roger Tompten, K.B. Francis, Howard Lieberman, Bob
Kimbrel
Jeff Johnson called the meeting to order.
1. Approval of minutes. Pat Qualey made a motion to accept the
minutes of February 7, 1994. Seconded by Jay Michels. All
approve.
2. First Annual Preservation Awards. The Commission ' discussed
awards to be presented to property /business owners who have done
appropriate restoration /renovation or projects. Some specific
ideas were discussed.
Ann will draft a questionnaire regarding awards in
the following
catagories:
1) Best pure restoration.
2) Best facade renovation.
3) Best appropriate "new" development.
4) Best sign or sign place.
2. The H.P.C. reviewed the recommendations and action
plan for the
Territorial Prison Site reuse study.
3. Minnesota Historical Society, State Historical
Preservation
Office Annual Workshop, April 16, Red Wing.
The following individuals would like to go:

Jay Michels made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Pat
Qualey. All
in favor.
