AUGUST 1, 1994
The Stillwater Heritage Preservation Commission met Monday, August 1, 1994, at 7 p.m., in the
Stillwater City Council Chambers of City Hall, 216 North Fourth Street.
Present: Chairperson Jeff Johnson, Roger Tomten, l � Fetorsnu, Bob Kimbrel, Howard
Lieberman, Jay Michaels.
Absent: Pat Qualey, Katherine Francis.
Others: Ann Pung - Terwedo
*Note: Brent Peterson lives at 502 West Churchill.
The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by Chairperson Johnson.
1. Approval of minutes July 6, 1994.
Bob Kimbrel made a motion to accept the minutes with the following two additions:
a. Commission member Kimbrel made the suggestion that the vending machine /or
signage be removed from the front of Tom Thumb store as part of their
improvements.
b. Commission member Kimbrel took over as Chairperson after item No. 2
Seconded by Commission member Lieberman. All in favor. Approved.
2. Tom Thumb signage and canopy.
Ann Pung - Terwedo reviewed the proposal.
Commission member Kimbrel made a motion to approve the proposal which included the canopy
and signage. Seconded by Commission member Lieberman. All in favor. Approved.
3. North Hill Survey.
Commission member Tomten discussed the architectural styles which may be apparent in
the North Hill which were not included in the packet of information. He stated that in
reviewing each home, one should review the general features of the structure then be
more specific.
In September, the Commission will review 4 to 5 homes as a group. Allot one hour for
this process.
4. Ann Pung - Terwedo updated the commission on the draft design guidelines and local
designation process for the old territorial prison site.
5. Ann Pung - Terwedo updated the commission on the CUB signage and trash receptacle
proj ect.
New Business
Commission member Kimbrel stated that the Perennial Garden Club has a hard time
maintaining the Farmer's Garden because of lack of irrigation "no watering hoses ". Ann
Pung - Terwedo will talk to Mrs. Kimbrel about this issue.
Commission member Lieberman made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commission member
Tomten. All in favor.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
