Present: Councilwomen Avise and Bodlovick, Councilmen MacDonald and Peterson and Mayor Junker Absent: None Also Present: Finance Director /COOrdifl . r, Kriesel Press: None Citizens: Wilbert Monson, Norbert Riepe 1982 BUDGET MR. KRIESEL presented the 1982 Budget worksheets to the Council. He explained that the budget worksheets ref lected Department Head requests and also the Finance Director's recommendations. MR. KRIESEL also presented cash summary worksheets that explained what the cash balance at year -end would be based on the Department Head requests and also as based on his recommendation. Mr. Kriesel felt that at least $250,000 - $300,000 should be cut from the Department Head's requests in order to help the City acquire and maintain an adequate cash surplus at the end of the year. MR. KRIESEL asked the Council to review the worksheets for the next budget meeting. He would submit additional information for the next meeting such as a detailed explanation of salary and Capital Outlay requests. MR. WILBERT MONSON, speaking for the Senior Citizens of the Stillwater area requested that the City Council consider installing wheelchair access ramps on Main and Chest- nut and Main and Myrtle Streets. MR. MONSON also requested the availability of a parking space for Senior Citizens near the Senior Citizen Center. This he thought would require the removal of one parking meter. The total cost of doing the ramp work would be about $5,400. MAYOR JUNKER told Mr. Monson that the Council would consider his requests during the budget process. EDGEWOOD DITCH MR. NORBERT RIEPE asked what the status was of piping Edgewood Ditch. MAYOR JOKER told Mr. Riepe that the City's Consulting Engineer was preparing plans and speci- fications for the work and that the Engineer would be meeting with the contractor doing the work for Local Improvement Nos. 184 and 189 to negotiate the cost of the work.
