Present: Councilwoman Bodlovick, Councilmen H. Peterson, R. Peterson, Powell and Mayor Junker Absent: Also Present: None January 4, 1980 4:30 P. M. Finance director /Coordinator, Kriesel; City Attorney, Magnuson; Don Raleigh, (Attorney for David S. Johnson; Chuck Swenson and Walter Nielson (IUOE Local 49 representa- tives; Monroe Wood PETITION FOR ANNEXATION DON RALEIGH, representing David S. Johnson, presented a petition for annexation to the Council. This petition was similar to the various petition submitted by David S. Johnson. Some properties were added to make the boundaries of the annexation area less irregular. On motion of Councilman Roger Peterson, seconded by Councilwoman Ann Bodlovick, a resolution was introduced "ACCEPTING THE PETITION FOR ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF STILLWATER ". AYES -- Councilwoman Bodlovick, Councilmen H. Peterson, R. Peterson, Powell and Mayor Junker NAYS - -None (see resolutions) DAVID MAGNUSON presented an agreement between the City of Stillwater and the property owners which were added to the petition for annexation. The agreement was necessary in order to have the property owners agree to sign the petition for annexation. Mr. Magnuson explained that the agreement offered the property owners some assurance that they would not have to pay any assessments arising from Johnson's development during their lifetime or until the property was sold. On motion of Councilman Roger Peterson, seconded by Councilman Powell, the Mayor and the City Clerk were authorized to sign the agreement for the annexation of this property. (a]1 in favor) PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES CONTRACT CHUCK SWENSON AND WALTER NIELSON representing the Public Works employees appeared before the Council to discuss the City's offer for a new contract. The Council made the following offer and asked Mr. Suenson to present this offer to the Public Works Employees -- Attest: Salary - 1980 1981 1982 $60 Personal Leave - to read a3 per the City's Personnel Policy. Sick Leave - that all permanent employees who have completed their pro - bationery period shall be entitled to all unused sick leave to a maximum of $5,000 as severance pay if they become disabled so they must terminate their employment. Holidays - An additional 1% days. Friday after Thanksgiving and 1/2 day before Christmas or New Years (Depending upon what day is agreed upon by the employees) Meeting adjourned at 5:45 P. M.
