Attest. /; r� //--' [ Finance Director /COOT inator November 26, 1979 4:30 P. M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Junker. Present: Councilwoman Bodlovick, Councilmen H. Peterson, R. Peterson Powell and Mayor Junker Absent: None Also Present: Finance Director /Coordinator, Kriesel Fire Chief, David Chial Volunteers - Richard Cole LKevinf mier, Charlsen, Bernard Peltier, John rdl Regular Firefighters - James Stevensen MAYOR JUNKER announced that this meeting was called to discuss a pension increase for the Fire Relief Association and a compensation increase for the Volunteer Firemen. RICHARD COLEMIER explained the present pension situation and also explained the effect on increasing the pension from $600 to $900, or to $1,000. According to the actuarial survey conducted, the City would not be required to pay anything to fund the pension if it was raised to $900, but would have to pay about $5,80C a year (at least for 1980) if the pension were to be increased to $1,000. COUNCILMAN HARRY PETERSON said that he felt this was a negotiating item and even if it had not been considered as such in the past, it should, for the record, be considered as such now. He suggested that the City not take any action on this matter until after the contract was settled with the regular firemen. On motion of Councilman Roger Peter on, seconded by Councilwoman Ann Bodlovick, the Council tabled at., action until after the Firefighter's Association Contract is settled. (all in favor) JOHN ZOLLER, representing the Volunteer Firemen presented graphs and other data showing comparisons between the regular firefighters compensation increases over the last few years and the compensation increases for the volunteers. MR. ZOLLER also presented a list of suggested increases for the Volunteers. On motion of Councilman Powell, seconded by Councilman Roger Peterson, the Council directed the Finance Director /Coordinator to cost out the suggested increases and submit them to the Council by November 30, 1979.
