PRESENT: Councilwoman Bodlovick, Councilmen Mahoney, Peterson, Powell and Mayor Junker ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: City Finance Director - Kriesel City Attorney - Magnuson BID OPENING - DEMOLITION OF THE SERVICE STATION AND REMOVE GAS TANKS This was the day and time for the opening o!: the bids for the demolition of a Service Station and remove gas tanks at 208 North Second Street. Advertisement for bids was published in the Stillwater Evening Gazette, the official newspaper of the City on November 29, 1978. At 4:30 P. M. the following one bid was opened by the City Attorney, the City Clerk and the City Finance Director - Coordinator: Moelter Constructiin Co., Inc. 2938 Quant Ave. N. Stillwater, Mn. 55082 Certified Check ($570.00) Total Bid Price $5,700.00 On motion of Councilman Mahoney, seconded by Councilman Peterson, the Council rejected the one bid from Moelter Construction Co., Inc. for the demolition of a service station and removal of gas tanks at 208 North Second Street. (all in favor) - -On motion of Councilwoman Bodlovick, seconded by Councilman Powell, the Council will offer this service station to Kraus - Anderson Contractors who are con- tractors for the Hi -Rise to use same for parking during the construction of this building. (all in favor) - -On motion of Councilman Powell, seconded by Councilwoman Bodlovick, the Council directed that the City Attorney take care of the delinquent taxes on this property. (all in favor) BUDGET ITEMS 1. The following salary proposal was established for the City Attorney for 1979: $18,000 plus $35.00 per hour for work in conjunction with improvement projects not to exceed $6,000 for the year. (See December 12, 1978 Council meeting for the resolution) 2. On motion of Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Mahoney, the compensation for Ron Niska, Building Inspector, was increased from $1,200 to $1,300 per month effective February 1, 1978. (all in favor) 3. The following salary schedule was established for the Supervisory and Non -Union employees; (Increase of $70.00 across the board). Nile Kriesel $1,630.00 * Dorothy Schnell $1,120.00 Wallace Abrahamson $1,800.00 .Tack Shelton $1,630.00 David Chial $1,600.00 Dick Blekum $1,520.00 Jim Fackler $1 290.00 ( *Effective April 1, 1979 - all other effective January 1, 1979) • • • • December 4, 1978 REVENUE SHARING 1. On motion of Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Powell, the Council authorized up to $90,000 from Revenue Sharing for the Park Fund less any monies that could be received from the Margaret Rivers Fund. (all in favor) 2. On motion of Councilman Mahoney, seconded by Councilwoman Bodlovick,the Council authorized $7,500 from Revenue Sharing for 1979 only for the Youth Service Bureau. (all in favor) 3. On motion of Councilman Powell, seconded by Councilman Mahoney, the Council authorized the use of Revenue Sharing monies for the purchase of a new bookkeeping machine. (all in favor) MISCELLANEOUS 1. On motion of Councilwoman Bodlovick, seconded by Councilman Mahoney, Mr. Kriesel was directedto contact P. J. Gaughan for $15,000 as a donation to the City in lieu of tennis courts in connection with their apartment building on South Greeley Street.
