SPECIAL MEETING The meeting was called to order by President Junker. PRESENT: Councilwoman Bodlovick, Councilmen ouncil Mahoney, Peterson, Powell and ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: Superintendent of l PublicWo City Attorney, Kimmel Works Shelton PRESS: WAVE - John Hanvelt Citizens: Len Meffert LIBRARY BUDGET salaries for and On motion of Councilman Mahoney, seconded by Councilman Powell, the Council authorized the transfer of a total of $7,000 of Revenue Sharing Funds for the Library Board ($5,000 for salaries and $2,000 for capital outlay) (all in favor) DUMP BOXES MR. SHELTON reported to the Council the figures he obtained from other communities as to what they are paying for this service or what other contractors are charging - Action Disposal gets $70.00 for 30 yard dump boxes plus a demurrage charge of $3.50 per day; Thompson Disposal gets $85.00 for a thirty yard box and they are thinking about demurrage charges. He reported further the cost for dumping will be raised by 10c by the first of June - it will be $1.10 a yard or $33.00 per box to dump. The cost of the truck is about $55,000 and the boxes cost from $1,200 to $1,700 each. It was agreed by the Council that there is gross abuse of this service and that we do need the police to check out the area at random and that the hours should be extended. On motion of Councilman Mahoney, seconded by Councilman Powell, a resolution was introduced "AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE TO $62.00 PER BOX FOR THE DUMP BOX SERVICE TO BE PAID TO JUNKER SANITATION SERVICE ". AYES--Councilmen Mahoney, Peterson and Powell NAYS--Councilwoman Bodlovick (see resolutions) ABSTAINED -Mayor Junker On motion of Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Mahoney, the Council approved effective 31, or7t hours for the public's use of the dump box cirva edcthee through Monday thru Friday 8:00 A. M. to 7:30 P. M. Saturdays 6:00 A. M. to 7:30 P. M. Closed Sundays AYES -- Councilmen Mahoney, Peterson, Powell and President Junker NAYS—Councilwoman Bodlovick (motion carried) RESOLUTIONS- The following resolution was read and on roll call was adopted: 1. Increasing the Rate for the Dump Boxes (Councilwoman Bodlovick opposed - Mayor Junker - abstained). Meeting adjourned at 7:50 P. M.
