HomeMy WebLinkAbout0928 Ord (not approved) PUBLIC NOTICE The City Council will meet at City Hall on Tuesday, September 17,2002 at 7:00 p.m, at its regular meeting for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on a proposal recommended by the Charter Commission to change the City Charter by Ordinance. What follows is the text of the proposed amendment as approved by the Mayor, All those desiring to be heard are invited to attend or to send written comments prior to the meeting to the City Clerk. City Hall is located at 216 North Fourth Street, Stillwater, Minnesota. ORDINANCE NO. 928 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILL WATER DOES ORDAIN: The following changes are made to the City Charter pursuant to Minn. Stat. S41O.12, subd. 7: ARTICLE I. Deleting. Article XIII the City Charter is, upon the effective date of this amendment, deleted in its entirety. ARTICLE II. Management. The system of waterworks owned and operated by the City shall, upon the effective date of this amendment, be under the control and management of the City Council. ARTICLE III. Continuation. The City Council shall be deemed a continuation of and successor- in-interest of the Board of Water Commissioners formerly existing under Article XIII of the City Charter and contracts, obligations and liabilities entered into and all work begun prior to the effective date ofthis amendment shall be continued, carried on and completed by the City Council. ARTICLE N. Succession. The City Council shall succeed to all the property, rights and privileges and shall be subject to all legal obligations of the Board of Water Commissioners formerly existing under Article XIII ofthe City Charter. ARTICLE V. Effective Date.
