AMENDING. The Stillwater City Code is hereby amended by amending Section 49, Subd. 1 that shall hereafter read as follows: - Subdivision 1. CREATION OF COMMISSION. There is hereby created and established a commission to be designated and known as the ttSTILLWATER PORT AUTHORITYtt of the City of Stillwater. The said commission shall be composed of, in addition to the Mayor who shall be ex-officio member of the commission, six (6) members. All members shall serve without compensation and shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Such appointments. shall be made within thirty (30) days after the passage and publication of this ordinance. Two (2) members of the first conmission shall be appointed for a term ending December 31, 1940 and two (2) shall be appointed for a term ending December 31, 1942. At the first regular meeting of the City Council after the respective terms of the first commission have expired, successors to the retiring members of the commission, equal in number to those retiring, shall be appointed in the same manner as. the first commissioners for a term ending three (3) years respectively after their retirement; and each commissioner shall hold office until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified. All vacancies in the commission, by resignation or otherwise shall be filled by the Mayor with the approval of the city Council for the then unexpired term. Every person appointed to be a member of the commission shall be a. resident of the City. Before entering upon the discharge of his duties, as commissioner, and within thirty (3D) days after the date of this appointment, he/she shall file in the office of the city clerk of said City an oath that he/she will faithfully and honestly discharge the duties of his office. A majority of the members of the commission shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of the business. 2. Saving. In all other ways the Stillwater City Code shall remain in full force and effect. 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication according to law. Adopted by the City Council this 7th day of January 1992. ;)4' ~ 1 ~ ......... ?
