Ken Meister, Del Peterson, Mike Polehna,
Michelle Roettger, Steve Wolff
MEMBERS ABSENT: Alan Liehr, Rob McGarry, Marguerite Rheinberger

Chairman Junker called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
Motion by Steve Wolff, seconded by Mike Polehna to approve the minutes
of February 23, 1994. Carried.
Discuss Park Dedication Policy Requirements
The Board reviewed and discussed the present Park Dedication Policy.
e Tim Thomsen reported that there is currently $46,000 In the Park
Dedication Fund. He also reported that $90,000 was requested In the
budget for the new park at the Benson addition. Council approved
$40,000 of that request.
Rich Cummings questioned why the cash equivalency per dwelling unit
decreases for higher density dwellings. Ann Pung- Terwedo will look
into how other communities establish rates. Rich suggested that the
League of Minnesota Cities would also have some information. Rich
suggested that the Board request the City's Finance Director to trace
the funding in the present Park Dedication Fund.
Review of Park Dedication Requirements for Three Proposed Subdivisions
1) (SUB/94-22) Request is to subdivide a 5.2 acre parcel into 9 lots,
with an additional lot of .35 acres dedicated to park land. Cash In lieu
of land would amount to $3,600.
The Board felt the parcel offered as park land would not be suitable for
a park. Del Peterson asked if the Board could request Lot 2 and then
sell it, resulting in more substantial funding for the Park Fund. Mike
Polehna reiterated that the current policy is not adequate and needs to
be updated.
Ann stated that, if land IS requested, a purpose should to be defined
for that land.
e
Motion by Del Peterson, seconded by Mike Polehna to refuse the land
proposed as a park and to request that the Community Development
