STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION
BOARD MEETING
November 10, 1992
MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Wohlers, Doug Hartman, David Ju ker, Alan
Liehr, Rob McGarry, Ken Meister, and
Mike Polehna
MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Gannon, Steve Joyce, Tom Lillesve and
Roberta Opheim

Wayne Wohlers noted a letter from Mary and David Ruch ommending
the Parks Department for removal of dead pine trees ad acent to
their property.

MCKUSICK LAKE WALKWAY
Wayne reported that Duane Elliott has contacted him
concern that the walking path and bike trail for McKu
will not go through. The plan calls for filling one an

PARKS AND RECREATION REPORT
Tim Thomsen reported that the Elks will begin using
courts on November 15 to sell Christmas trees.

The ballfields are closed up and skating rinks are not

Tim reported on the clarification received from City Attorney
Magnuson regarding the Park Dedication Fund: The mon y can be
used for acquisition and establishment of parks and p aygrounds
and capital improvements, but not for maintenance.
Tim estimated that $10,000 would be needed for a new pi nic area
for Lily Lake and for new playground equipment for oth r parks,
There is currently $44,000 in the Park Dedication Fund. The Board
will pursue this after the budget is finalized.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, at 7:00
p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
