CITY HALL: 216 NORTH FOURTH STILLWATER, MINNESOTA 55082 PHONE: 612-439-6 21 e e e MINUTES STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING October 22, 1991 MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Wohlers, Douglas Hartman, Al Li hr, Rob McGarry, Ken Meister, Roberta Opheim, and Mike Po1ehna MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Gannon, David Junker, Steve Joyce, and Tom Lillesve ALSO PRESENT: Bob Bielenberg and Tim Thomsen WORKSHOP WITH CITY COUNCIL The Board met with the City Council in a workshop session to discuss the Lily Lake Complex and the recent increase in Ice Arena Rental fees. City Finance Director Diane Deblon reported that even with the $5.00 per hour increase, the Arena's budget for 1992 will have a shortfall of $13,000. Council concurred that the increase could not be rescinded, because the hortfall would then amount to $22,000. Council voted in favor of giving the school district 10 ice time at no charge, if needed, after the 160 purcha are used. Council also voted in favor of Ice Arena Ma Bielenberg keeping his books on a calendar year basis, b January, 1992. Council then recessed their meeting, while the continued with its regular agenda. LILY LAKE COMPLEX AND PARKS REPORT Tim reported that the work on the inside of the rena is completed. Sentence to Serve workers put in 640 hours w rking on the arena. The new shelter at Washington Park is completed. Tim also reported on new plans for the east side of th The hill will be terraced with picnic tables by the bea walkway to the dock and a new fence. The bid w Wayne Orn, st. Croix Valley Hockey School, for $80 per 36 hours for a total of $2,880. Included with the bid deposit of $288. Sec nded by Al Liehr. All in favor. There were two bids received for Summer 1992 hockey. Wohlers opened the bids. The first was from Wayne $12,501 from June 11 through July 11, with a deposit amount of $1,250.10 hairman rn for in the The second bid was from Andre Beaulieu Hockey School for $12,270 for June 11 through July 11, with a deposit in the am unt of $1,227. Motion by Rob McGarry to award the Summer Hockey bid highest bidder, Wayne Orn, based on the assumption that a were followed and that both bids were made by competent with the correct amount of deposit.
