CITY HALL: 216 NORTH FOURTH STILLWATER, MINNESOTA 55082 PHONE: 612-439-6 21 e e e MINUTES STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING September 25, 1990 MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Wohlers, Douglas Hartman, David Junker, and Rob McGarry MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Gannon, Steve Joyce, Tom Lammers, Alan Liehr, Roberta Opheim, Mike Polehna and Tom horeson ALSO PRESENT: Dick Blekum and Bob Bielenberg Chairman Wohlers called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by David Junker, seconded by Rob McGarry to app ove the minutes of the May 22 meeting as submitted. All in favo . OLD BUSINESS Dick Blekum reported that the st. Croix Rowing Club ha put up a locked gate at Kolliner Park and has cleaned up the be ch. Dick will check with the club regarding when the new buildin will be put up. LILY LAKE BEACH REPORT Bob Bielenberg reported that there were very few probl beach this summer. The beach was busy all summer except weeks in July which were rainy. The weeds were cut an this year and the beach was weed-free. He will be bring dock in the next few days. Dick stated th t the DNR has expressed interest in futher enhancement of that ar a with a bike path along McKusick Lake Road, a canoe ramp, etc. PARKS REPORT Dick reported that the shelters at Pioneer Park were ve this summer. There was some damage done to the grass Park - mostly during Lumberjack Days because of the suggested that next year the concessions be put on th lot instead of the grass. Also, because the park was f year, it was difficult for the handicapped to go in a the park. He suggested that an opening be left in the year for handicapped access. NEW BUSINESS The Board discussed the impending retirement of Dick January 15, 1991. ARENA REPORT Bob Bielenberg reported that the Arena will open Oc There are 11 high school games (four from Mahtomedi), a tournaments booked at the Arena. Bob currently has openings for Zamboni drivers and maintenance.
